***Day 2 Valentine's Countdown***
“Sometimes,” he whispered, “I pretend that I’m worth something!”
You resisted the urge to shake him and knock some sense into the boy. The two of you were huddled underneath a bunch of blankets, mattresses, and pillows that formed a makeshift fort. A flashlight propped up between you casted your faces in a warm yellow glow.
“That I could swim for miles like Sempai! And never tire.” Nitori sucked his head into the blankets the two of you were lying on. “Is that a stupid fantasy?” He asked.
“Dreaming is never stupid,” you replied. And Nitori, you’re worth a lot more than you’d imagine.
“Hey! So tell me something about your life, (y/n)!”
“Well…” you traced your finger across a wrinkle in one of the blankets. Nitori’s gaze affectionately followed your hand as you struggled to find something positive to bring up. The two of you had known each other ever since you were little, and you couldn’t imagine living life without his sweet, inspirational comments and his nervous smiles. “My Spanish is improving,” you finally said.
“Oh, that’s good, (y/n)! But why Spanish? Its on the other side of the world!”
“Why English?” You teased, gingerly poking his shoulder. His face went slack as a blush invaded his cheeks.
“Uh-ah, um, its your first language! That’s a good reason,” said Nitori.
You smiled, but on the inside you were burning. Why can’t I think of anything interesting to say? You glanced at the curious Nitori, who was examining your facial expression. He probably thinks I’m boring…
You frowned down at your hands. “I envy the other kids. The ones at school, the ones at the bus stop, the boys at the subway and the girls at the coffee shop.”
“Why?”
“Because,” your hands shake, “the kids at school are confident. They’re not afraid to be loud or speak their mind. The others at the bus stop are always drawn into their groups. They have friends, Nitori. And outsiders be damned.” Nitori flinched. “The boys waiting for the subway have somewhere to go, something to do! And the girls at the coffee shop… THey’re all beautiful, Nitori! Every last one of them!”
You felt a tear curl down your cheek, and the pillow you were leaning against was wey. With an embarrassing sob, you desperately scrubbed at your eyes. Willing the tears to go away. You heard the rustle of sheets, and suddenly the flash light tipped over. a hand wrapped around your back, holding you against a warm body. You obliged. Your hands wrapped around their chest, hugging you to them.
You rested your head on Nitori’s shoulder. His fingers stroked along your spine and as if he was throing a switch, your entire body instantly relaxed. You nuzzled into the crook of his neck.
“Nitori, why are you so cuddly?” You murmured,
“(y/n)!” He slowly rocked you and you felt his hand curl as it stroked your back. “Mmm. Tell me why you’re so pretty. And then maybe I’ll think about it?” He sounded so uncertain when he flirted. It was adorable.
You grinned. His throat vibrated when he talked and you couldn’t help but blush at the compliment. “Nitori, I’m going to miss you,” you murmured.
you heard Nitori sigh, and his hands continued to rub your back. “B- but we’ll see each other again, right?”
“We better,” you softly laughed. To your surprise, your grip on Nitori’s back was tightening. Your other hand gently brushed against his stomach area, and you were surprised to feel rock-hard abs. Nitori immediately drew in a sharp breath as your fingers cautiously traced along his abs. You felt your face glowing beet red. “When did you start working out?” You whispered.
“Ahh. I’ve been swimming?” You looked up at his pink face. So cute! But he obviously wasn't
t the boy who couldn’t manage a single chin-up anymore. Now he was all… Muscular. Hot. One could even go so far as to say sexy.
“But still cute,” you murmured to yourself.
“Huh?”
You kissed his cheek in a sudden burst of confidence that flew in from nowhere. With your hand, you stroked his silky smooth hair. “Y- you’re cute. And you’re worth something. I’ll guarantee it.”
He wrapped a skinny arm around your shoulders. Then, as quick as a flash, he leaned down and pecked you on the lips. You sat in bewilderment. Then you deviously smirked and latched your mouth onto his. He stumbled back in surprise, causing you to fall atop of him. When you finally pulled away, Nitori was gazing shyly at the flashlight that was just out of reach. “Hey,” you nudged his nose. “Its okay.”
And then he smiled. With the brightest grin you had ever seen.
Whoever said that pillow forts couldn’t be romantic?

Tacenda (n.) things better left unsaid; matters to be passed over in silence
The swimmer kept to himself for the last few days. He didn't ask for anyone's advice, nor did he ask for anyone's company. He just secluded himself in his own home, and in his own bathroom. His friends didn't ask why, even if they all wanted to know. The quiet male was even more quiet than usual, and it worried his closest friend.
Makoto decided to go to his friend's house to check on him. He was worried since he didn't come out of his house for a while, and even though he was used to it, he still got worried. He pressed the doorbell outside and waited for Haruka

“Will you three stop moving already? It’s hard to carry you when you’re moving around so much” you whispered into the box in your hands
“And don’t you dare make a noise” you finished
As if to mock you, a meow was heard from within the box. You flinched slightly and looked around, giving a relieved sigh as you saw no one. Quickly getting back to your task, you continued to move around the corridors of your school sneakily.
For almost 10 minutes now you had been moving around with a large cardboard box in hand. For some weird reason you decided to hide it in the furthest place from the entrance.
