“After all of this time, they don’t believe me!” You’ve yelled, screamed, cried, and pouted in the confinement of your bedroom, but there’s nothing you can do now. The twins hate you.
You flop onto your bed, stuffing the corner of a throw pillow into your mouth to silence your sobbing. Reflecting back on the afternoon, it seems almost like a horror story…
After Kaoru had found the marriage files, you had to explain the very reasons behind your move to Japan.
“It was all to get closer to you guys,” you had told them. “I didn’t know it until my Butler told me on the first day of school, and I had barely even remembered you guys!”
“We still don’t remember you,” Kaoru pointed out.
“To us, you’re still a stranger.” Hikaru had folded his arms defiantly across his chest, as if to signify that he wouldn’t listen to any pleading. Period.
“You guys! We’re friends! Remember?” You had reached out and grab their arms.
“Quit saying that, (y/n),” Kaoru snapped. “To Hikaru and I, our entire friendship seems like a hoax. Now if there’s anything else we need to know, just say it now.”
“And otherwise, get the hell out of here!” You can see tears brimming in Hikaru’s eyes, and he immediately darts out of the room.
You had turned to face his twin, who kept shaking his head and muttering, “Tricks, traps, no friends, just us, go, just go… please.” He raised a hand to his forehead and leans over defeatedly.
“Fine!” Your voiced had cracked and your face was starting to turn red, but you spun on your heel and walked right out of Hitachiin Mansion.
Grandmother was not happy.
But that was the least of your worries.
“I don’t want to move back to America!” You scream into your pillow.
“But honey-”
“No mom!”
“I thought you’d be happy to see your friends again!”
“But I’ve made friends here!”
“I’m sorry, but your Grandmother doesn’t care. We’ve been staying here under her care, and now that the marriage is off there’s no need for you to go to Ouran anymore.”
So the twins were right, you realize. This entire thing, our entire friendship, from the moment we met as little kids, was plotted from the start.
“You fly back in a week, and all of your grades will be transferred back to your old school! Isn’t this great news?”
You don’t even respond. You just lay frozen on your bed as silent tears continue to slip down your cheeks.
*** One Week Later***
- Hitachiin Mansion -
“Hikaru…”
“Yeah?”
His brother rolls over to face him. It was almost midnight, but neither twin had been able to sleep all week. Every time that Kaoru closed his eyes, he kept seeing (y/n)’s face beaming at him, smiling, blinking in surprise… and the last image was always of her beautiful eyes stained red with tears.
“Do you think that she was telling the truth?”
Hikaru closes his eyes. “No.” Then he opens them and looks at his little brother. “Kaoru, you’ve got bags under your eyes and you haven’t been eating much all week.” Kaoru nods and wraps his arms around Hikaru. They huddle close and listen to the sounds of their breathing. “It’ll be okay, they’ll be other girls like her, right?”
Kaoru doesn’t respond.
“Man, you really liked her, didn’t you?”
“I still do.”
Hikaru’s eyes widen, and Kaoru shakes his head.
“But I just don’t what to do. Sometimes, I think I remember. Seeing her when we were little, I mean. I see fancy horse-drawn carriages and snow, tons of snow, when I’m not thinking about anything. They just slip into my daydreams. And then I hear her speak.”
“Well, what does she say?”
“‘You know, you might look a lot alike, but everyone's different inside’, and ‘Don't forget that, okay?’”
The two lay in silence.
“Hey, that does sound sort of familiar…”
“Wasn’t she wearing a dress? As white as the snow?”
“You told her that she looked pretty,” Hikaru teases.
Kaoru blushes. “Well, she did!”
Hikaru laughs and tweaks Kaoru’s nose. “Somebody’s been in love all along!”
“So it wasn’t… fake.”
“No. I guess not.”
“The game. She’s the only person who’s ever won it without even guessing.”
“I don’t think she did win, Kaoru. More like she defied the rules. Cheated, or something.”
“That’s no different than what Tamaki did.”
Hikaru and Kaoru smile at each other as they remember what an idiot he had been. All of his silly guesses… It was luck that he guessed right in the end.
And then they remembered you. The way that you had told them that they were different than anyone else you had ever met. And most memorable of all, you had told them that they were different from each other. No one had ever believed that before. Not until Haruhi had waltzed along, at least.
“I think I love her,” Kaoru whispers.
“Who?”
“(y/n), of course!”
“Hey, isn’t she flying back to the states tonight?”

Right There All Along Kaoru x reader
You pound on the door, tears streaming down your face. Your best friend opens the door.
"(Name)?" Kaoru asks. You throw your arms around him, crying softly into his shoulder.
"What happened" he whispers into your hair
"H-Hikaru" you choke out. Kaoru sighs and pulls you through the door, closing it behind you.
This has happened to you twice before this week. Your relationship with the red head was falling apart.
"What did he do?" Kaoru asks when you sit on the couch, he gets up to make you some tea.
"He got mad at me..." You say. Kaoru freezes.
"If he- (name), you would tell me if he hurt you, right?"
"He didn't. Not physically. But I woul

Kaoru x Reader: Intimacy
Cool smirks, half-lidded eyes, fluttering hearts, electric touches, gentle caresses and breathless kisses. These were words used to describe the numerous rendezvous that occurred between Kaoru and his new plaything. No. At this point he guessed he should definitely be considering you his girlfriend. Even lover would be an appropriate term. You had more than wormed your way deep enough into his thoughts and emotions to be considered more than a mere plaything he could throw away at any moment. He couldn’t toss you aside if he tried. He was in love with you, and there was no doubt in either of your minds about that.
He smirked down at yo

The Pains of Love (Hikaru/Kaoru x Reader) Part 1
She ran her feminine fingers through her hair in frustration, nearly pulling hair out. She shoved a pillow to her face and screeched, “Why God?! Why did this have to happen to me? Out of all the people You could have chosen, You had to pick me and why him?!”
His eyes haunted me in my dreams, his scent still lingered on the sweater he had let her borrow from the other day. She brought a sleeve up to her face and held it tight to her flushed cheek as salty droplets cascaded down her face.
“Why does love have to be so complicated?” She hoarsely whispered.
There was a sudden knock at her bedroom door. Her eyes widened and
